Halloween on Central, presented by Grow Financial Federal Credit Union, is happening this October 29th
St. Petersburg, FL – St. Petersburg’s largest open-air event, Halloween on Central, presented by Grow Financial Federal Credit Union and in partnership with the Grand Central District, EDGE District, the City of St. Pete, LocalShops1 and St. Pete Pride, is returning this spooky season.
On Sunday, October 29th from 12p.m. to 5 p.m. attendees can stroll and roll along nearly two miles of the city on Central Avenue from Dr. MLK Jr. (9th) Street to 31st Street and experience the heart of the Sunshine City. Trick-or-Treaters and festival-goers will see the city from a unique perspective allowing them to rediscover their favorite local businesses and interact with the community in a fun, healthy way – without worrying about car traffic.
“This event has gone from surprise to sensational in only 2 years. Last year’s event drew over 100,000 attendees,” said Roger Curlin, Executive Director of the EDGE Business District Association. “Now in its third year, this event allows kids to be kids and adults to feel like kids again. We know visitors and residents from all over the county will enjoy St. Pete’s biggest Halloween celebration.”
There are a variety of ways to get to this 22-block event. Whether it’s the award-winning SunRunner’s multiple stops along the festival, biking, scootering, walking from nearby neighborhoods, carpooling, or parking nearby (the Tampa Bay Rays have made their lots available for Free all day) – the planners want the community to come enjoy a wonderful day.
“Besides a massive thank-you to our title sponsor, Grow Financial Federal Credit Union, whose financial support was key to producing this event, we also wanted to recognize our Platinum sponsors, the St. Petersburg Downtown Partnership and the Pinellas County Transit Authority (PSTA), whose commitment to this event and the community was instrumental in Halloween on Central returning in 2023” said Chris Arnold, Executive Director of the Grand Central District Association.
The event is still seeking sponsors to help produce this event, assure its longevity, and raise funds that are reinvested in improving St. Pete’s historic Central Avenue business corridor. For more information or to get involved, visit halloweenoncentral.com
