Guidelines for Reopened Bars

On Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020, DBPR Secretary Beshears issued an order which reversed his bar closure order and allowed bars to operate again pursuant to Governor Desantis’ Executive Order 20-139 also referred to as Phase 2.

Under the Governor’s Phase 2, bars and other vendors licensed to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises may operate at fifty (50) percent of their indoor capacity with appropriate social distancing.  Social distancing in the seating and service of patrons in all areas of the business establishment must be maintained and shall include a minimum of six feet between parties or use of a hard-surface partition that appropriately separates parties. Patrons may only be served if they are seated, this includes service at bar counters. Additionally, pursuant to City of Key West’s emergency directives, all beverages purchased for consumption on the premises must be consumed while seated.
