Group from Miami caught with undersized fish

A group of five teens from the Miami area were caught with 28 undersized Snapper Friday night.

Deputy Seth Hopp was on foot patrol on the Long Key Bridge at 9:20 p.m. when he saw the group of young men fishing. Three of them were 17 years old. Two were 18 years old. All were from the Miami area.

They had a bucket on the ground with fish inside and more fish in a plastic grocery bag. An inspection revealed 27 undersized Schoolmaster Snapper and one undersized Mangrove Snapper.

Deputy Hopp issued criminal resource citations to the two adult males, Michael Cruz and Michael Bagrameli. He dead fish were returned to the water.
