Great Works Speaking Competition for High School Students Books & Books @ The Studios of Key West, 533 Eaton Street

Books & Books at The Studios of Key West is excited announce the Great Works Speaking Competition, a reading and performance contest open to high school students in Key West and the lower Keys.

Participating Students will select a work of writing from an author with a Florida Keys connection. They’ll then prepare a short presentation of their selection including an introduction of themselves and the work.

On competition day, Saturday 10/16 at 2pm, each contestant will present their prepared work and read their selection to an audience at Hugh’s View Rooftop Terrace.

A group of judges will access each contestant based on series of criteria ranging from their reasons for selecting that particular piece to eye contact and stage presence.

Cash prizes are as follows: $750 for first place, $500 for second place, and $250 for third place.
