GRAMMY-winning guitarist, producer Paul Nelson makes Key West debut November 21-23, 2017

Key West, FL (Wed., Nov. 1, 2017) – GRAMMY-winning guitarist, producer Paul Nelson will make rounds for his Key West debut Thanksgiving week with a film presentation at Tropic Cinema, a guitar master class at the Studios of Key West, and full-band appearances at The Green Parrot.

On Tuesday, November 21, Tropic Cinema screens “Down and Dirty: The Johnny Winter Story” at 6:30pm

A near constant presence at the side of rock and blues legend Johnny Winter in the last decade of his life, Paul Nelson is widely credited with helping Winter find himself again, and for prompting a remarkable resurgence in the aging star’s career after the 1990’s found him in deteriorating health and performing far beneath his potential.

“Down and Dirty” documents a year on the road with Johnny Winter during his re-emergence, a period leading up to the star-studded 70th birthday bash in Times Square which would be his last. Through stories bandied amongst stars on the tour bus and at after-show karaoke bars with the band, the film is an all-access tour pass. It offers a personal glimpse of the mortal man behind a rock and roll icon in metamorphosis; a man empowered to rekindle ambitions and dream again, and a man determined to make up for lost time.
