Gov. Scott Appoints Representative Holly Raschein to Florida Defense Support Task Force

KEY LARGO – Governor Rick Scott has announced the appointment of Rep. Holly Raschein (R-Key Largo) to the Florida Defense Support Task Force.  The Task Force is a legislatively-mandated council whose mission is to preserve, protect, and enhance Florida’s military missions and installations.  Its charges include strengthening state support for military families and veterans with a focus on education, health care, employment, and family programs and maintaining and expanding the missions of Florida military installations, amongst others.  Rep. Raschein has previously served on the House Veteran & Military Affairs Subcommittee.

“With Homestead Air Reserve Base to the north of my district and NAS Key West at the south, issues impacting Florida’s military and veterans are extremely important not just to our state but to the area I represent,” said Rep. Raschein.  “I welcome this opportunity to serve on the Florida Defense Support Task Force and thank Governor Scott for appointing me to serve with this vital organization.”

Rep. Raschein attends her first meeting with the council today in Key West.  She is appointed to fill a vacant seat for a term beginning July 19, 2017 and ending July 1, 2019.
