German TV Expose of Duval Rip-Off Shops Now Available

The German prime time television show Achtung Abzock! (Attention Rip-Offs) went under cover to expose Duval Street cosmetic shop rip-offs. In February a five member team of journalists used hidden cameras and secret microphones to learn about the deceptive and high pressure sales tactics of the notorious Key West businesses.

On July 2, millions of Germans watched the highly rated show sometimes called the “60 Minutes of Germany” featuring a twelve minute segment on the businesses, the citizens protesting and the city’s response.

Rip-Off Team spokesperson Tevis Wernicoff calls the film footage, “Compelling and the code department’s lack of response to the journalist written complaints shocking. Its a real eye opener.”
