Fringe Theater announces the return of Lillian Baxter to the Little Room Jazz Club, Dec 21-31An Evening with Lillian Baxter is cabaret meets the Great American Songbook in high heels.

“Audiences fell in love with Lillian’s voice and her upbeat approach to life’s little foibles,” says Fringe Artistic Director Rebecca Tomlinson. “So Lillian’s coming back with an all new show.”

Lillian Baxter is our favorite has-been (or almost was) and boy can Lillian dish the dirt on the golden age of TV, Hollywood, and ex-husbands! All with a can-do spirit and a knock-out voice.

“We are Lillian’s first and biggest fans,” explains John Vessels who, along with Jay Schwandt, wrote the show. Jay plays Corky Weinstopper, Lillian’s third (and favorite) husband and pianist. John is Lillian Baxter a formidable and true believer in making lemonade from lemons!

Jay and John both came to theater by way of music.  Jay’s degrees are in music composition, and John’s degree is in opera. When not performing, Jay is a professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Ball State University, and John teaches voice and acting in Indianapolis.

“John Vessels has a masterful level of vocal control which he pairs with a pitch perfect portrayal of a super start that never was.  And Jay Schwandt shines like a star with his impressive piano skills,” critics raved when their show first opened. Key West audiences will rave too!
