Free Nonprofit Fundraising Training on February 22

Planned Giving Course to be Offered at the Key West Library

Tired of fundraising events? Staff, volunteers and board members of nonprofits and faith-based organizations will benefit from a free training to be held on Thursday, February 2024 from 10 a.m. to Noon at the Key West Public Library. Registration is available online at cffk.org/freeclass.

Bonnie Barnes from the Florida Small Business Development Center will explain how to raise big money through planned gifts that will secure organizations’ futures and reduce dependence on annual fundraisers. Jennifer McComb from the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys will share information on the Foundation’s services for securing and managing planned gifts.

“We held this course in Marathon in October and had rave reviews,” McComb said. “The participants particularly enjoyed getting the tools and resources to get started including sample policies and forms, brochures, and implementation timelines.”

Participants will join representatives from organizations including Keys Choral Arts, the Key West Community Sailing Center, Last Stand, the Montessori Children’s School of Key West, Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium, the Old Island Restoration Foundation, Samuel’s House, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, the Jose Wejebe Memorial Foundation, and Wesley House Family Services, who have already registered.
