Free Hazardous Waste Drop Off Day

The City of Key West and Waste Management want to remind the community that Saturday, February 4th is the monthly free hazardous waste and e-waste drop off for City of Key West residents. Everything from old paint and pesticides to cell phones and old gaming systems can be dropped off free of charge at Indigenous Park, 1801 White Street, on Saturday, February 4th from 8 a.m. until noon.

Drop offs are limited to residents only. No commercial waste can be accepted.

First Saturdays provide a safe and environmentally sound way to get rid of hard-to-dispose-of items that would be hazardous to the environment if tossed in the trash. The items that will be accepted are: paints, stains, preservatives, pesticides, fertilizers, roofing compounds, waste oil (five gallons maximum), resins and solvents, adhesives and caulks, corrosives and acids, cleaning products, and automotive fluids. Old electronics are also considered a household hazardous waste and the items accepted are: phones, computers, monitors, wires, remotes, gaming systems, keyboard and mouse, etc. No appliances please.

These free disposal days are offered monthly on the first Saturday of every month. For more information contact the City of Key West at 305-809-3776 or [email protected]
