Monroe County is hosting the Alzheimer’s Disease Initiative ‘s free educational training session Friday, June 10 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Murray Nelson Government and Cultural Center, 102050 Overseas Highway in Key Largo.

The training is part of a series designed to provide knowledge, skills and methods of coping to family, caregivers, professionals and others involved in the care of individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease and other memory disorders.

The agenda includes Alzheimer’s Disease: Managing the Disease by Dr. Dolores Perdomo; The Importance of Community Resources by the Alliance for Aging; Safety for Patients by Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Monroe County Fire Department and Caring for the Caregiver by Pam Martin and Leslie Lopez.
