Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council to hold special session

The Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary will hold a special session of the Sanctuary Advisory Council at the Hyatt Place in Marathon, Florida, at 9 a.m. on Oct. 17, 2017. The meeting is open to the public.

NOAA with several agencies and organizations will offer an initial post-Hurricane Irma environmental assessment including an update on efforts regarding coastal infrastructure, derelict vessels and marine debris. Advisory council members will discuss needs, opportunities, resources and partnership ideas for environmental and economic recovery in the aftermath of the Category 4 storm.

Public comment will be taken at noon. An agenda is posted at www.floridakeys.noaa.gov. This meeting will not be streamed live online.
