February beautiful Business Award

Commissioner Lisette Carey, Ihona Beys, Deputy Code Director Sophia Doctoche George Beys, Mayor Teri Johnston, Vice Mayor Sam Kaufman, and Commissioner Billy Wardlow. Commissioner Mary Lou Hoover was in attendance via Zoom.

Mayor Teri Johnston and the City Commission have recognized George’s Plumbing, 1824 Flagler Avenue. with the February Keep Key West Beautiful Award.

The award is recommended monthly by the Code Compliance Department for businesses that significantly improve their property.

George’s Plumbing is a locally owned business that has been operating in Key West for three and half years. The owners — George and Ihona Beys — have been in the plumbing trade for 28 years, since he was 15 years old. Originally from Palm Beach County, George and his wife pride themselves in providing a full-service plumbing company. The Beys find importance in image from the building to their work trucks, and the uniforms their employees wear.
