Fantasy Fest Façade Contest Winners Announced

Each year Key West guesthouses, businesses and private homes compete for cash prizes in the Reddy Ice Fantasy Façade ™ Competition.

2019 winners are: Grand Prize: Wicker Guest House, 913 Duval St., with “Skeleton Keys.” Commercial Winner: Teri Johnston, 1503 Washington Street, with “Ghost Ship.” Tying for 1st Prize in the Private Residence category: Jeri and Glenda Fox, 2819 Fogarty Ave., with “40 Years of Fear on Fogarty,” and Dawson Whitehurst, 918 Fleming St., also with “Skeleton Keys.” Tying for Winning Guesthouse is Atlantis House, 1401 Atlantic Blvd., with “Bone Island Band, and Curry Mansion, 511 Caroline Street, with “Key Wicked.” Small Business winner is Ocean Sotheby’s, 420 Fleming St., with “A Chorus Line,” and Big Business winner is Sloppy Joe’s, 201 Duval Street, with “Still the Best Music Party in Town.”

Honorable mentions for 2019 are Banana Café, 1215 Duval St., Berkshire Hathaway, 336 Duval St., Paradise Tattoo, 627 Duval Street, Sandal Factory, 408 Duval Street, Grooms residence, 1415 Thompson Street, Ricks, 202 Duval St., Artists House, 534 Eaton St., and Stover residence, 636 William St.
