Drug arrests on Stock Island

A search warrant was served Monday at a Stock Island residence.  One man was arrested on drug related charges.

Detectives from the Special Investigations Unit, along with Agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration and Homeland Security Investigations served the warrant at 5700 Laurel Avenue, Lot-48, on Stock Island.  Outside the residence, detectives found 26 year old Robert Johnson IV.

The search of the residence turned up a trafficking amount of cocaine – approximately thirty grams – six grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, 132 pills identified as Tramadol and over thirty two hundred dollars in cash suspected to be the proceeds of drug sales. Johnson was charged with cocaine trafficking, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.  Johnson was also arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in court for possession of marijuana. Robert was booked into the Key West jail.

A second man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for drugs. 34 year old Jaime Miranda was booked into jail on an outstanding warrant for selling a half ounce of cocaine to an undercover operative in January of 2015. Detectives with Monroe HIDTA say the sale of the illegal substance took place at a residence on 12th Avenue, Stock Island. Assisting with the drug case were agents from Homeland Security and the FBI.
