Don’t Discard Large Items in Advance of Storm

As the Keys ready for the possible impacts of Tropical Storm Laura, expected to arrive late Sunday or into Monday, the City of Key West wants to remind the community that now it the time to secure your yard.

While making your final preparations for the weather, please do not put out extra trash or large items for pickup by Waste Management. Loose items can cause damage in high winds and, depending on the strength and path of the storm, Waste Management will have to suspend pickup at some point.

We urge everyone to keep an eye on the National Hurricane Center for the progress of this storm while finishing up your preparations.
