Diane Schmidt Honored with 2025 Appelrouth Award at Key West Chamber of Commerce Installation & Awards Dinner

Key West, FL — The Key West Chamber of Commerce proudly recognized Diane Schmidt as the recipient of the prestigious Appelrouth Award during its annual Installation & Awards Dinner, held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Reach Resort.

The Appelrouth Award, named in honor of William “Billy” Appelrouth, is presented annually to an individual who exemplifies outstanding service, dedication, and commitment to the betterment of the Key West community. Schmidt, a respected leader and advocate in the local business community, was celebrated for her tireless efforts and lasting contributions to the island’s growth and prosperity.

In presenting the award, Chamber leadership highlighted Schmidt’s significant impact, including her leadership roles, volunteer efforts, and advocacy for initiatives that strengthen the community. “Diane Schmidt has been a driving force behind so many positive changes in Key West. Her dedication to our community is inspiring, and this recognition is well-deserved,” said Amber Shaffer, newly installed President of the Key West Chamber of Commerce.

The evening also featured the installation of the 2025 Chamber leadership team, including President Amber Shaffer, as well as John Toppino as 1st Vice President, Casey Arnold as 2nd Vice President, Van Fisher as Secretary, and Brittany Snyder as Treasurer.
