Deputy involved in traffic accident in Florida City

A Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy was involved in a traffic accident in Florida City this evening.

According to preliminary information, a truck pulled in front of the deputy in the vicinity of the RaceTrac gas station on highway U.S. One. She was reportedly unable to avoid colliding with the truck. She and two others were transported to Homestead Hospital to be treated for injuries that were reported to be minor in nature.

The Florida City Police Department will be investigating the accident.
