Convicted felon arrested for firing gun

A 38-year-old Islamorada man was arrested Thursday for firing a revolver multiple times from the balcony of an apartment complex.

Ryan Andrew McNally was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition by a felon, discharging a firearm in a public place and failure to register as a convicted felon.

The Sheriff’s Office was called to the 85000 block of the Overseas Highway at approximately 11:32 a.m. after the building manager was told by other tenants that McNally fired a gun from his apartment balcony several times at approximately 12:30 a.m. earlier that morning.

Security video footage showed images of a person firing a handgun from the same area. A witness reported seeing McNally load and shoot the gun as well.

A bullet hole in a tree was located nearby.

Deputies and Detectives took McNally into custody as he was leaving the residence.

A .38-caliber revolver and ammunition were found in the apartment.

McNally was convicted of fleeing and eluding in 2017 in Broward County,

McNally was taken to jail.
