Community Foundation to Host Special Talk, Book Signing with National Nonprofit Expert, Leader, and Author Alex Counts

Nationally renowned nonprofit management expert, foundation executive, and author Alex Counts will make a special appearance in Key West on August 19th for a lecture and free book signing event presented by the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys. Alex will offer key leadership, life and career secrets he learned through decades of being a powerful leader, detailed in his new book When In Doubt, Ask for More: And 213 Other Life and Career Lessons for the Mission-Driven Leader. In a glowing review of the book, Kirkus Reviews called it “parceled out pearls of leadership wisdom.”

The one-time only talk and book signing event will be Thursday, August 19, at 3:30 p.m. at the Tennessee Williams Theatre, and is free and open to the public. The first 100 people to register will receive a free copy of Alex’s new book, thanks to a generous gift from the G. Ross McKee Jr. Charitable Fund.

Alex Counts is the founder of the Grameen Foundation and has been published in the Washington Post, the Stanford Social Innovation Review, the Miami Herald, the Christian Science Monitor and the Chronicle of Philanthropy. He is also the author of Changing the World Without Losing Your Mind: Leadership Lessons from Three Decades of Social Entrepreneurship. Alex is an independent consultant to nonprofit organizations, including the India Philanthropy Alliance, and an affiliated faculty of the Do Good Institute at the University of Maryland’s School of Public Policy
