Community Foundation Grants $15,000 for Hurricane Ian Relief

The Community Foundation of the Florida Keys has already been providing aid to help local residents affected by Hurricane Ian.

The Community Foundation granted $7,500 to the Florida Keys Outreach Coalition for its Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry located at 2221 Patterson Avenue in Key West.

The Foundation also granted $7,500 to the Key West Housing Authority to purchase food and supplies for public housing residents. Their units were flooded during Hurricane Ian and refrigerators, stoves and furniture destroyed.

The grants were possible in part thanks to the Driftwood Fund, a donor advised fund established at the Community Foundation in 2016. One goal of the fund is to assist the homeless, the hungry, the working poor and neighbors threatened by the housing crisis. To create a fund in honor of someone you love or a cause important to you, contact Jennifer McComb at [email protected] or 305-809-4991.
