Commission Commends HOB Buccaneers
Mayor Teri Johnston and the City Commission this month commended the Horace O’ Bryant Buccaneers Football Team for their undefeated season and securing the school’s second Championship. The Buccaneers competed in the 2023 Tri-County League Championship, which was held in Pembroke Pines on October 26th and had a victorious win over Somerset Academy Pembroke Pines 12-0.
“Their dedication, commitment and hard daily practice,” reads the proclamation, “contributed to a successful, undefeated season. At the start of the year, the team was clicking on all cylinders and never let up, with an explosive offensive unit, a lock down defense along with special teams that controlled field position the team was destined for a great season with a conference title on their mind.”
It is most fitting we recognize and congratulate these outstanding student athletes: Kade Maltz, Scott Meier, Trent Thomas, Matthew Oviedo, Kaine Dickerson, Chace Gaertner, Luke Grissinger, Mason Waldner, Jakub Krytinar, Sawyer Hill, Luke Kilduff, Tyrese Scott, Carlos Gonzalez, Devin Stehly, Alex Sarazin, Iggy Hernandez, Brady Wright, Cain Hughes, Sandy Horn, Johnathan Oggeri, Reef Guyet, Zander Font, Luis Hernandez, Edwing Mercado, Jakobe Williamson, Wyatt Julian, Cayden Gonzalez, Kacper Kowalik, Fernando Fernandez, James Carey, and Kelton Cius for their success on and off the field.
