City of Key West Earth Day Clean Up on Friday April 23rd

Come help keep Key West green by joining the City of Key West Earth Day Clean Up on Friday April 23rd from 9 to 11 a.m.

Meet on Bike Trial in front of the Hyatt Beach House at 5051 Overseas Highway. Volunteers are urged to join our Community Services crew in this Earth Day Cleanup!

City Staff will join volunteers to clean up the “Triangle” at US 1 and North Roosevelt and will be cleaning up under the Cow Key Bridge and the Riviera Street Bridge.

We will provide gloves, safety vests (bring yours if you have one), buckets (bring one if you have one), trash bags, pickers and please wear your mask.

Keep Key West Beautiful group Plogging The Keys will also be on site helping cleanup as well as handing out Earth Day friendly goodies like metal reusable water containers that clip onto you backpack or bike, 24-hour bus passes to volunteers who request them, small towels that say Keep Key West Beautiful. We are also collecting cigarette butts for recycling with TerraCycle, so if you have been picking them up or saving yours, feel free to bring them in a zip lock bag to this event.

If you have a boat, paddleboard or kayak and want to help we would love to have you also. There is a lot of garbage under these bridges!
