City Manager Recognizes Staff for Years of Service

City Manager Greg Veliz last night gave a shout out to a number of employees who have reached milestones in their careers. He noted that he’s sad he can present the honors in person, but he wants to recognize the service and dedication of each individual.

Three members of the Key West Fire Department were recognized for their years of service. Driver/Engineer Scott Pellicier, Capt. Jacob Perry, and Shift Commander Christopher Saunders have all been with the City for 25 years. In fact, noted Veliz, they were all hired on the same day in 1995.

Lead Mechanic James Knowles was awarded his 20 years of service gold watch earlier this month, and Veliz noted his dedicated service.

Veliz also congratulated two members of the Key West Police Department for their recent promotions. Sergeant Jason Castillo was promoted to lieutenant, and Officer Alex Rodriguez was promoted to sergeant.
