City Commission Names Commission Hoover to Serve on Transportation Committee

The Key West City Commission unanimously agreed that Commissioner Mary Lou Hoover will serve as the City’s representative to the newly-created Florida Keys Transportation Coordination Committee. The committee will study and research traffic issues and create formal recommendations to the governing bodies of the five cities and the Monroe County Commission.

The committee is made up six elected officials, one from each municipality and one from the county commission. State and regional transportation officials as well as city and county staff will work with the committee to help make recommendations and answer questions. The committee will discuss enhancing public transportation, increasing intercounty trips for added convenience, and promotion of services to out-of-town visitors, as well as bring other ideas to be considered.

Vice-Mayor Sam Kaufman will serve as the alternate appointment for the City Commission.
