CINCO De Mayo Connection At The Bottle Cap

Equality Florida is having its 2017 Connection at the Bottle Cap Lounge, 1128 Simonton Street, on Friday, May 5 from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. Owners Carolyn Sullivan and Carmelo Vitale are hosting the Connection in the beautiful Blue Room at the Bottle Cap Lounge.

An Equality Connection is a casual evening of mingling and interacting with supporters of the work of Equality Florida, the state’s largest organization established to secure justice and full equality for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. This event is free and open to the public.

Kick off your Cinco de Mayo celebration with a stop at the Bottle Cap and enjoy an evening of food and fun. There will be a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle and chances available for an original, framed watercolor by William Welch valued at $1900. The watercolor has been donated by the artist and the Frangipani Gallery in memory of Bob Decker and Connie Gilbert.

Founded in 1997, Equality Florida is celebrating its 20th anniversary and is proud of the fact that during its existence, not one piece of anti-LGBT legislation has passed in Tallahassee. A current initiative of Safe and Healthy Schools is an effort to protect LGBT youth and provide them an equal opportunity to flourish. There will be a short update on the past accomplishments and the future challenges facing Equality Florida and the LGBT community.
