CHORAL GROUP SEEKS SINGERS FOR FALL SEASON
If you like to sing, it’s time to sign up for the Fall 2019 season of Keys Choral Arts, according to Tim Peterson, Artistic Director.
“We’re very excited to offer our community the best in Choral music, and we have two performances planned for the holiday season,” Peterson said. “Please visit our website at KeysChoralArts.org for more information on concert dates.”
Singers may sign up in advance by submitting a check payable to Keys Choral Arts for Fall Season dues of $135, and mailing to 1075 Duval St., Suite C1, Key West, FL, 33040.
Membership is open to anyone age 16 and above, with basses and tenors particularly desired. A limited number of full and partial scholarships are available for those in need.
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 401 Duval St. is the location for the first two rehearsals, on Saturday Sept. 14, and Saturday Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to noon, with optional music theory refresher workshops from noon to 1:30 p.m. on both dates. Concert music will be distributed upon receipt of dues payment. Singers are encouraged to arrive by 9:30 a.m.
Subsequent rehearsals will take place weekly, on Tuesday nights beginning October 1. The first rehearsal will be held from 6:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Weekly sectional rehearsal schedules will be announced at that time.
Keys Choral Arts is a true community chorus for people who love to sing. Auditions are not required and members don’t need to read music since audio voice part learning tracks are provided. All that is required is a love of making music, and a sincere commitment to dedicate the necessary time for rehearsals and individual learning.
