CHI TO OFFER FREE WALK UP COVID-19 TESTING IN KEY WEST

Miami, Florida- Community Health of South Florida, Inc. (CHI) is proud to offer free walk-up COVID-19 testing on Monday May 11, 2020 from 11am to 1pm at the Fredrick Douglas Community Center Gym, 111 Olivia Street, Key West, FL 33040. CHI was the first to offer drive through COVID-19 testing in the Keys and South Florida, and to date it has screened more than 5,400 people and tested more than 2,000.  CHI continues to lay the groundwork for a new health center to service the people of Key West in Bahama Village.

“CHI has been caring for the Keys for decades with our centers in Marathon and Tavernier and we continue to expand our services to include Key West,” said Brodes H. Hartley, Jr., President and CEO of CHI. “We want the people of Key West to know that we will become a comprehensive medical home for them. That commitment begins with COVID-19 testing, telehealth and outreach services even before we open the center in Bahama Village.”

Key West Mayor, Teri Johnston said the city is eager to have compassionate, quality care during this dire time.

“We are pleased to welcome CHI into our community and grateful that they will be providing COVID-19 testing to our residents,” said Mayor Johnston. “But beyond this, we look forward to the addition of much needed primary care and behavioral health services at the new health center.”

CHI’s COVID-19 testing continues to be free for those who meet the testing criteria:

CHI is offering the following services via telehealth: primary care, pediatrics, behavioral health for adults and children, limited OB/GYN and dental services. Most insurances are accepted, and CHI offers a sliding fee income-based scale for patients who are uninsured. Just call (786)272-2100 for a telehealth appointment.

Hartley Jr., Teaching Health Center, training the next generation of doctors in family medicine and psychiatry.
