CFK welcomes new VP, Finance & Administrative Services

KEY WEST, FL, June 30, 2020—The College of the Florida Keys (CFK) will welcome Dr. Charlene White as the College’s new Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services on July 15. A member of CFK’s senior leadership team, Dr. White will serve as the chief financial officer, responsible for all budget development, financial forecasting, auditing, and management activities of the College including state and federal reporting. Additionally, she will lead CFK’s business services, information technology, financial aid, construction and facilities, and human resources departments.

Dr. White comes to the Keys from Tennessee where she held a similar position at Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) for the past three years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting and a master’s degree in Accountancy and Systems from the University of Tennessee and a doctorate in Higher Education and Adult Education Leadership from the University of Memphis.

“I was born and raised in a small community and take extreme pride in a small but diverse learning community,” said Dr. White. “I have constantly challenged myself to know students’ names, their program of study, and a little about them. When you know just those three items about students, they realize you care and will come to you when they have an issue. Their success is our success!”

An active Rotarian, mentor for Tennessee Achieves, alumni of the Dyer County Leadership program, and chair of the DSCC Athletic Committee, Dr. White looks forward to developing connections and contributing within the Keys community.

“I’m excited for me and my family to make the Keys our home. I look forward to meeting new people on campus and in the community,” added Dr. White.
