CFK Tugas compete at Gulliver Gobble-Gobble Meet

KEY WEST, FL, November 26, 2024— The College of the Florida Keys (CFK) Tugas swim teams participated in the Gulliver Gobble-Gobble November Last Chance meet on November 23-24, 2024, at Gulliver Prep School in Miami, FL. The men’s and women’s teams achieved significant milestones, including personal best times and more qualifications for the national championship in March 2025 in Buffalo, NY.
Personal Best Achievements:
Several swimmers recorded personal bests during the meet:
- Women’s Team:
- Teagan Lavin: 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, and 100-yard freestyle
- Victoria Mayor: 50-yard freestyle and 50-yard backstroke
- Isabella Oliverio: 50-yard butterfly
- Men’s Team:
- Kaemon Fagley: 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard individual medley, and 100-yard freestyle
- Eddie Kertis: 50-yard breaststroke and 100-yard breaststroke
- Drew Lebsack: 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 50-yard butterfly, and 200-yard butterfly
- Lucas Montiel de la Nuez: 50-yard breaststroke
National Qualifications:
A total of six swimmers qualified for national events in a combined total of 16 events:
- Women:
- Teagan Lavin: 50-yard butterfly
- Isabella Oliverio: 100-yard individual medley and 50-yard butterfly
- Men:
- Kaemon Fagley: 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle, and 100-yard individual medley
- Eddie Kertis: 50-yard breaststroke and 100-yard breaststroke
- Drew Lebsack: 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 50-yard butterfly, and 200-yard butterfly
- Lucas Montiel de la Nuez: 50-yard breaststroke, 50-yard freestyle, and 100-yard breaststroke
The swim teams’ next competition will be Tuga Time Trials at the CFK Pool on December 7.

This GivingTuesday on December 3, the College is encouraging Tuga Fans to donate to the CFK Foundation to support the athletes on their journey to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Swimming and Diving Championship in Buffalo, NY in March 2025.
