Celebrated Royal Academy of Art’s Bill Jacklin Presents a Free Talk at The Studios of Key West Wednesday, January 31 at 7pm

On Wednesday, January 31 at 7pm, London Royal Academy of Art’s celebrated artist Bill Jacklin presents a free talk followed by a book signing at The Studios of Key West. Marking the inauguration of The Studios’ partnership with London’s prestigious Royal Academy, Jacklin speaks about his recent work and decades-long career. Two books dedicated to Jacklin’s work, one of which includes a forward by Sting and an artist interview with art historian Michael Peppiatt, will be available for purchase after the talk. RSVP’s are currently being taken by phone and online for this free event by calling 305-296-0458 or visiting tskw.org.

Known for capturing the light and movement of urban spaces, Jacklin was born in London but has resided primarily in New York since 1985. In 1989 he was inducted into the prestigious Royal Academy of Art, and in 1991 was elected Royal Academician. Jacklin at first worked with abstraction, and as his interest changed toward studies of light and movement, he began to work with figuration.

Jacklin’s work is in collections worldwide, including the Arts Council of Great Britain in London, London’s British Museum, The Brooklyn Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, MOMA, Tate Gallery, and the Victoria and Albert Museum, among many others.
