Call for Volunteers at Habitat Landing Monday, September 25th

We have set up our first Habitat for Humanity Irma Recovery volunteer project for this Monday, September 25th on Big Pine Key.

We plan to start at 8:30am and work until around 1:30pm.

The 15 homes at Habitat Landing on Big Pine Key were devastated by wind and storm surge, and arein one of the hardest hit areas on Big Pine Key.

I know this is short notice; please let me know if you or your group can assist.

We are also in need of debris removal equipment; if there is anyone local with a backhoe, that would be a big help. Please bring tools and safety gear if you have it. (Chainsaws, rakes, gloves, safety goggles, protective headgear.) We will provide water and Gatorade.

We can’t provide accommodations at this time for visiting groups; accommodations are very limited due to the number of emergency workers and displaced residents.

If you can help, please email [email protected] or call me at 305.294.9006 x 3.
