[Key West, FL.]  The Studios of Key West’s 2023 theater season kicks off February 8 with See Jane Run, a funny and heartfelt new musical in which a trio of leading ladies plays over 20 roles in delightful scenes about today’s every woman, Jane, learning to run in her big girl shoes.

Belly-laugh funny but also incredibly moving, the story follows three actresses, Maribeth Graham, Krysten Cummings and Lauren Thompson, as they depict the challenges and triumphs of modern day life, from therapy and carpools to breaking up and making up, and everything in between.

“What I love about the musical is how it touches on so many of the things we go through as we grow up and get older,” says Director Murphy Davis. “The themes are universal. It’s a beautiful pastiche of song and scene that’s a joy to experience.”

See Jane Run was written by Maribeth Graham, a Carbonell Award-winning actress who has performed many times on Key West stages, and Dana P. Rowe, who also serves as musical director, with choreography by Kyla Piscopink.

Dana P. Rowe’s musical theater works have been performed in London’s West End and worldwide. One of his most popular musicals, Zombie Prom, began right here in Key West thirty years ago at Red Barn Theatre, with direction by Joy Hawkins. Zombie Prom is a staple of community theaters and high schools globally, and achieved cult status with a film starring RuPaul and Katy Mixon.

The production runs Wednesday through Saturday nights, February 8-11 and 15-18. Tickets available at tskw.org, or by calling 305-296-0458.
