Boys and Girls Clubs announcement

We are very grateful to all the donors who continue giving so much.  Thanks to them, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Keys Area is pleased to announce that in our continuing efforts to recover from Hurricane Irma, we are able to waive all fees for children attending our Clubs in Key West and Big Pine for an additional 90 days-until March 31, 2018. This is available for current members and new members who want to join the Club. We are also able to serve the children and their families by extending our closing time from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Key West location.

While our Big Pine Club suffered severe damage and is under redevelopment, our Key West location beginning in January 2018 will be open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will be offering free academic tutoring until noon from Certified teachers.  They will also be provided free lunch and many other positive activities. Under present funding, this program will also run until March 31, 2018.

Every other Friday night in January through March, we will have a Teen night at our Club in Key West.  This is open for teens to engage in some positive social and fun activates, individually, and as a group. There will also be free snacks!

These extended hours are from an award we received from the very generous Deerbrook Charitable Trust Foundation.  “The Boys and Girls Club is proud to be an active partner in our community’s efforts to recover from Hurricane Irma.  This award demonstrates a commitment from our entire organization to serve our community in the best possible way,” Dan Dombroski, Executive Director.
