Body found in waters near Key West

The body of a deceased female was found in the mangroves near Boca Chica Channel at approximately 2:45 p.m. Friday.

Detectives are still working on identifying the female.

The remains were found by a person checking on a nearby boat.

Foul play does not appear to be a factor.

Autopsy results are pending.

The Sheriff’s Office is also investigating the remains of a male found not far from the same location on Thursday. That person has also not yet been identified.
