Auction of original Sal Salinero oil painting to benefit Anne McKee Artists Fund

A rare remaining original artwork by legendary artist Sal Salinero (1941-2015), titled “Still Life with Red Ribbon,” is to be auctioned in a special online event to benefit the Anne McKee Artists Fund of the Florida Keys, which provides project-based grants to local residents who demonstrate artistic excellence and a commitment to the Keys arts community, along with scholarships for young artists to assist in their development.

A fourth-generation Keys native who achieved international acclaim for his realistic style, vibrant color palette, and masterfully depicted nuances of reflected light, Salinero was also a treasured mentor to many leading Florida Keys artists and a dedicated supporter of the Anne McKee Artists Fund since its inception in the 1990s.

“Sal Salinero originals can be found in many private, public, and corporate collections in the U.S. and abroad, and we are so honored to have one of his few remaining original art works to benefit the Fund,” said Mckee Fund board president Kalo Clarke. “As with all our auction artworks, the proceeds directly fund grants for furthering the creative endeavors of our local artists. ‘“Still Life with Red Ribbon,” is a beautifully rendered, 51” x 75’ oil on canvas that captures the spiritual sense of the perfection in nature in stunning colors and magnificent detail,” she said.

Bidding begins March 14 and ends March 28 at www.mckeefund.org.
