Arrests made in marine/fishing rod theft case

Sheriff’s Office Detectives in the Lower Keys arrested a male and female in connection with an investigation into nearly $10,000 worth of fishing equipment stolen from Hurricane Hole Marina on Stock Island.

  • Zjamahri Miguel Medina, 23, of Key West, was charged with larceny, possession of marijuana, and tampering with evidence.
  • Jerneen Nicole Green, 49, of Key West, was charged with larceny.

The investigation remains ongoing and more arrests/charges may be pending. The Key West Police Department and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are assisting in the investigation.

The case began earlier this month when multiple vessels were reported burglarized. The investigation led to a search warrant at a Stock Island residential address in which many fishing rods that were reported stolen were recovered.
