“Papayas on Green Plate” by Sal Salinero will be featured at the 25th Anniversary Anne  McKee Art Auction.

Anne McKee Artists’ Fund will hold their 25th Art Auction on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 7:00 PM at The Studios of Key West at Eaton and Simonton Streets in Old Town Key West.

Auction gala will begin at 7:00 p.m. with doors opening at 6:15 p.m. Returning for her second year, auctioneer Stephanie Kaple, will keep the action flowing in her most entertaining style, while attendees bid on original paintings, sculpture, photography, fiber art, ceramics, mixed media and more. Attendees can choose from the work of 50 Florida Keys artists, ranging from renowned masters to emerging talents.

“This annual event is unique among the Keys’ fine art auctions, because it is supported by artists with the sole purpose of benefiting artists,” said Kalo Clarke, president of the Anne McKee Artists Fund’s volunteer board of directors.

In addition, the Board will present the Marion B. Good Award for 2020 to Artist Joanne Sloan.  Joanne, a resident of Cudjoe, has generously supported the auction with her artwork for more than a decade and has encouraged and supported artists in our community with her volunteerism and leadership.

Participating artists receive 50 percent of the proceeds from the sale of his or her work, while the McKee Fund receives the remainder to award to Keys artists for select projects. Founded by longtime Key West resident Anne McKee, the not-for-profit fund has awarded more than $290,000 since 1994. As well as fine artwork, attractions at the auction include an open bar, gourmet hors d’oeuvres and champagne.  Tickets are $25 per person and $50 for VIP seating and can be purchased in advance at www.mckeefund.org.
