Ambassadors Help Everyone Mask Up

In an effort to be sure the community and our visitors stay safe, a group of Key West Ambassadors has volunteered to visit some of our busiest attraction areas and hand out masks for those who don’t have one. And, considering this is Key West, masks and beads go together, so they’ll be sharing both!

These volunteers will be fanning out at the Southernmost Point and that area, as well as Mallory Square encouraging people to wear a mask. In the Keys, everyone must wear a mask in outdoor situations when social distancing isn’t possible. These two areas are particularly prone to crowds, making it hard sometimes for people to stay six feet apart.

Other Ambassador volunteers are visiting local businesses and handing out “Mask Up” signs if they’re needed.

The Key West Ambassadors are a group of dedicated community members who have attended the City’s Ambassadors Academy. They all have several traits in common, including being civic-minded and loving Key West.

So, if you see one of your neighbors out and about with a packet of masks and a bundle of beads, please thank them for helping out!
