Alert: Road and Boat Traffic To Be Affected By Installation of Two Concrete Beams for Pedestrian Bridge

KEY LARGO – Southbound traffic on U.S. 1 at Mile Marker 103.3 and boat use through Adams Cut will be affected tonight from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday (July 22 due) to the installation of two 120-foot concrete I beams for the new pedestrian bridge over the Marvin D. Adams Waterway in Key Largo.

Northbound traffic on U.S. 1 will not be affected.

For Southbound traffic on U.S. 1, one lane will be closed as you approach the bridge. The other lane will remain open except for two brief 15-minute stoppages between 2:00 and 2:30 a.m. and 3:00 and 3:30 a.m.

Anytime during the 7-hour window, boat traffic on Adams Cut could be stopped from passing under the bridge.

The $1.18-million pedestrian bridge is expected to be finished in December. It is the last piece of the U.S. 1 Bayside Shared Use Path that stretches from about Mile Marker 99 to 106 and provides a safe route for people to walk, run and bike.
