Additional Charges Added to two City Officials
April 24, 2025: The City of Key West continues to cooperate with the Monroe County State Attorney’s Office as additional charges have been added to two City officials.
The Monroe County State Attorney has announced that additional charges have been levied against the City Attorney, Ron Ramsingh, and the Chief Building Official, Rajindhar ‘Raj’ Ramsingh. Additional charges were issued following a months-long joint investigation conducted by the Monroe County State Attorney’s Office in close partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The additional seven charges for the Chief Building Official are listed as Fraud – False Statement – Public Servant Falsify Official Document, and the sole additional charge for the City Attorney is listed as a Public Order Crime – Bid Tampering by Public Servant Contractor.
If convicted, says the State Attorney’s Office, each defendant faces up to five years in state prison for each count. The charges may also carry serious professional consequences, including potential disbarment and removal from public office.
The City of Key West continues to operate at full capacity, providing all services to the community with professional and dedicated service.
