A Message From our Member – Literacy Volunteers of America – Monroe County, Inc.
Members of the Literacy Volunteers of America – Monroe County, Inc. and the Key West Lions Club will ignite the fryers and rattle the pots and pans in the kitchen of the iconic yellow building on North Roosevelt Boulevard with a fried fish dinner Saturday. The club, whose future was once uncertain, has roared back to life through its partnership with Literacy Volunteers of America – Monroe County and has reopened the Dr. Jose Sanchez Lions Eye Clinic. The dinner will be from 6 to 9 p.m., and will feature a genuine Key West fried fish dinner with homemade black beans, yellow rice and all the fixings. Eat eat in or carry out – the cost is just $15, with dessert included – choose from such classics as Key lime pie, guava bread pudding and flan. All proceeds benefit the Key West Lions Club and Literacy Volunteers of America – Monroe County, Inc.
Advance tickets may be purchased at the Lions Club, Monday through Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to noon. For information, call 305 304-1941.
