Man arrested for battery

A 47-year-old Big Pine Key, Florida man was arrested Sunday after breaking into a residence and battering a female occupant.

Nathan Scott Liska was charged with multiple counts of battery.

The Sheriff’s Office was called at approximately 9 a.m. whereupon the female victim stated Liska broke into the residence, hit her, and choked her. The woman had injuries to her body, face, and head consistent with being battered.

Liska was found outside nearby wearing shorts, no shirt, and no shoes in 60-degree weather. There was blood on his hand, chest, and face. He was taken to jail.


Man arrested for battery on a law enforcement officer

A 45-year-old Waxahachie, Texas man was arrested Sunday for battery on a law enforcement officer following a traffic stop.

Chad Neal McDonald was also charged with possession of 1.1 grams of methamphetamine, possession of 5.5 grams of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

McDonald was stopped on U.S. 1 in Marathon at approximately 1:34 a.m. in a Dodge pickup truck pulling a boat trailer with no license plate or functioning tail lights. There was an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and glass pipes in plain view. The drugs and paraphernalia were subsequently found.

McDonald kicked Deputies, attempted to grab a Deputy’s firearm from its holster, and pulled away from Deputies while they were attempting to arrest him. McDonald was taken to jail.
