Reckless motorist arrested after brief pursuit  

A 56-year-old Islamorada, Florida woman was arrested Monday after driving recklessly U.S. 1. There were no injuries reported.

Catherine Isabel Paul-Hus was charged with DUI, reckless driving, and refusal to sign a criminal citation. She was also cited for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and having an obstructed license tag.

The Sheriff’s Office observed a white BMW traveling south at Mile Marker 76 at approximately 9 p.m. passing in no-passing zones and failing to stay in its lane. The Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop the BMW. The driver, later identified as Paul-Hus, did not stop and continued to swerve into oncoming traffic, forcing other vehicles off the roadway.

The BMW finally stopped near Mile Marker 74 and Paul-Hus was taken into custody without further incident.
