Old Town Stabbing

A man was arrested on Friday after allegedly stabbing a Key West man who was out walking his dog. Wade Morgan was walking his dog on Fleming Street around 9:30 p.m. when he encountered a homeless man sitting near the library.

According to Morgan, the man asked him some questions, then stood up with a knife in hand and stabbed him in the chest. Morgan ran to his nearby home and his wife called the police.

Police quickly located Zak Zank, 24, near a Dumpster at the Sunbeam Grocery. With the help of K9 Jigsaw, Zank was taken into custody and charged with attempted homicide.

The victim was airlifted to Jackson South where he was determined to be in stable condition.
