National Women & Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day
Monroe County, Fla.— National Women &Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NWGHAAD) is observed each year on March 10 to raise awareness about the impact of HIV on Women and Girls in the United States.
- National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day aims to increase awareness and highlight the work being done to reduce HIV infections among women and girls while showing support for those women living with HIV.
- DOH-Monroe’s HIV/AIDS Program is co-hosting with AETC (AIDS Education & Training Center) and DOH-Lee a free two-day virtual conference on March 9-10, 2022 addressing Progress, Innovation, Activism and Self-Care for Women and Girls. - 1 in every 9 Women with HIV are unaware they have it according to the CDC.
- Know Your HIV Status. Testing is available by appointment at the Monroe County DOH and thru our community providers. In-Home Self-Testing HIV Kits are also available.
