NAACP Announces Regional Training in South Carolina
BALTIMORE (March 3, 2019)–The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the nation’s foremost civil rights organization will host a press conference on Tuesday, March 6, to announce the Civil Rights Advocacy Training Institute (CRATI), to be held in Columbia, SC –the first nationally sponsored NAACP event to be held in South Carolina since economic sanctions impose in 2000.
Representatives from the national NAACP, the City of Columbia, along with other allies will make the announcement. Special guests include: Derrick Johnson, NAACP National President and CEO; Steve Benjamin, Mayor, City of Columbia; Cheryl Swanson, General Manager of the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center; Bill Ellen, President and CEO of the Experience Columbia; Brenda Murphy, SC State Conference President; Gloria Sweet-Love, Region V Chair, National Board Member; James Gallman, NAACP National Board Member; Madie Robinson, NAACP National Board Member; Nelson B.
