LETTER TO THE EDITOR / RESIGNATION
Roger C. Kostmayer
Followingthe 2018 election, which broke the one party power monopoly, andafter the Mueller investigation report is made public in 2019, the U.S. will face an ugly, dangerous and chaotic period that could last for years.
The walls are closing in, and there will be investigations, hearings, subpoenas and impeachment proceedings that will probably result in more criminal indictments, both federal and state, up to and including the President, his family and members of his administration. These looming pressures will increase the President’s instability and disdain for the rule of law, what’s best for the nation, and for the truth.
The Watergate scandal and resignation of President Nixon under threat of impeachment are instructive in the Trump case. The Republican Party backed their Republican President – until the facts were undeniable -and then it was over when they told Nixon he must resign the presidency. Then, as now, there was tremendous pressure to find away to move the country forward, to heal and reunite the American people, to return to the norms, precedents, law and to have the White House function effectively and ethically both domestically and internationally.
Today, such a negotiated transition strategy as resignation would be difficult even when the dangers are clear and present. But watching an American president run amok in the White House raises so many terrifying possibilities, it just may cause enough politicians to grow some spine and do what’s best for their country.
As President Trump often says: we’ll see.

I vote for Konklife to impeach Kosmayer or lose credibility on serious topics. Fish wrap tabloid comes to mind…
Mr. Sofranac nailed it perfectly, this Konklife is a leftist disgrace. Stalin would be proud!
Sadly, some Americans can’t stand for Trump’s malfeasance to be brought to light. I have seen no draining of the swamp, only an increase in the alligators. I believe that Mr. Kosmeyer was on point. Michael Cohen’s recent statements evidence Trump’s misdeeds. Merely an inaccurate labeling of Konklife as a “leftist disgrace” does nothing to establish a leftist leaning. Some persons can’t see that the emperor has no clothes.
The national discord we all are witnessing of late cannot be fully understood lest we delve into root causes for the malaise.
From the vantage point of a generation used to a patriarchal order where the male of the species predominates and is the head of the household, we now seem to be abandoning authority and chain of command for a more distributive concept of leadership. Everybody and nobody is in charge. That trend is becoming evident in every aspect of our lives.
That being the case, I posit that anyone in position of authority is seen as a threat to society. I have no doubt that if either Truman or Reagan were currently at the helm, they too would be lambasted the same way as is President Trump. Every excuse in the book is invoked to denigrate the person in charge while perpetrators continue to accuse him of seeding discord.
When backbone is lacking, hypocrisy knows no bounds. Millennials now have to take ‘adulting’ classes to catch up with basics that the older generation had to learn much earlier in life. Meanwhile, the self-appointed gurus on the left continue playing the blame game but cannot seem to be able to step up to the platter and deliver.
At the end of the rabbit hole is a tired Diogenes philosopher who just wants to be left alone and no longer is willing or wishing to run the roost. Meanwhile, the rest of society is running amok, seeking not only an elusive legitimacy but acceptance of an emerging, albeit nebulous, societal norm.
The danger in all this, of course, is that fighters will eventually stop fighting for ingrates who’ll quickly get overwhelmed by others who are hungrier and more adept at the sword…
We the People, worldwide, are being driven into another World War so those on top of the ego ladder can play their chess game for a NWO by creating a multi-level divide and conquer situation and a new kingdom of royals and slaves. This is the same playbook used for thousands of years. Think about it! We are just stupid sheep being lead to the slaughter AGAIN!
What do the Bushes, Romneys, McCain’ls,Noonan, Powell, Kasich, Will, Krauthamer and countless other Republicans and conservatives have in common? They all think Trump is an incompetent, greedy and disgraceful pig who is unfit for office.
Yet, Pres Trump has been in office 2 years; while Hillary hasn’t.
Dream on!
