They’d rather wallow in misery than accept authority.
Poor Lou~!
Just another lost soul in paradise..
Lou writes “Trump is enamoured with authoritarian figures.”‘
Pres Trump should have followed the Clinton, Bush, Obama Administrations in dealing with the DPRK. Those “three Kings” brought the DPRK gifts to buy that leadership off.
Maybe “regime change” could have been tried. We have Iraq and Libya by the Bush and Obama Administrations as reference.
Pres Trump could have declared a “red line” instead. That declaration worked very well in Syria for the Obama Administration.
Based on the above success stories, I can see why Pres Trump’s efforts are not being viewed favorably!

This relationship appears a “love hate” one. Months previous, Pres Trump threatened the DPRK with a nuclear war! Now the “nuclear option” worked successfully for Pres Truman against the Japanese. (The last war the US won but not overlooking our spectacular victories under other Presidents against military powerhouses of the Dominican Republic 1965, Grenada 1983, and Panama 1989.)
