Keys Audubon Migration Bird Walk
The Florida Keys Audubon Society will hold a migration bird walk on Saturday, April 21, beginning 8 a.m. at Indigenous Park, 1801 White Street.
Late April is the peak of bird migration in the Florida. Birds migrating from Cuba, the Caribbean, and Central America often stop in Key West en route to their northern habitats. Indigenous Park can be a great place to see them because of its plethora of native trees.
Over 175 species of birds have been recorded in the park, and birds such at Hooded Warblers, Indigo Buntings, Scarlet Tanagers, and Broad-winged Hawks are all possibilities.
The walk is open to beginners, experts, and the merely bird curious.
Participants are advised to bring binoculars, a hat, and maybe a small bottle of water.
The walk is free and open to anyone who is interested.
